Hazel Tucker Troup, 69, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Friday, April 23, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Rev. Steve Hand and Rev. Danny Lovett officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 9:00, Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Troup was born June 1, 1934, in Oglethorpe County, Georgia to the late Ralph and Gladys Black Tucker. She moved to Ben Hill County in 1952 from Oglethorpe County and was a former resident of Sycamore. Mrs. Troup was a homemaker and a seamstress. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and taught the Lydia Sunday School class.
Mrs. Troup is survived by her husband: Dean Troup, Fitzgerald; one daughter: Heather McWhorter, Rebecca; three grandchildren: Shelby, Gracie and Railey; two sisters: Shirley Melton, Lakeland, GA and Gail Knight, Fitzgerald; one brother: Walter Tucker, Fitzgerald; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, William Nathan Troup and one sister, Ruth Tiller.
