George William Woods, 77, passed away on May 2, 2012 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Woods was born on March 7, 1935 to the late William and Deveda Dixon Woods in Live Oak, FL. He was preceded in death by a brother: W. H. Dixon and sisters: Dutch Woods and Seal Woods. Mr. Woods was employed as a supervisor for Broadmore Mobile Homes and he was a veteran of the US Army having served in Korea.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2011 in the Tanner Church Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Floyd Musgrove officiating.
Survivors include: wife: Kate Dykes Woods, Douglas, GA; daughters: Judy (Ronnie) Crosby, Pearson, GA; son: Johnny (Lesia) Woods, Douglas, GA; brother: James Woods, Douglas, GA; half-brother: Jesse Dixon, West Green, GA; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Friday, May 4, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home. Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
