In Taunton, April 30, 2012 Marie Odie, age 81, passed away after a lengthy period of failing health. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Paul L. Odie. She was born in Melrose, the daughter of the late Oscar L. & Violet (Sampson) Sampson. Marie has been a longtime Taunton resident. Marie was a graduate of Cape Cod Nursing School. She was an LPN & former owner of Brightside Rest Home in Lynn, MA. She enjoyed playing bocce, bowling, active in the Special Olympics, and activities at the Senior Citizens. Marie is survived by her children; Lawrence Paul Odie of Arizona, Paula M. Odie of Freetown and her late son Kells Odie. She leaves two grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her late sister was Dorothy May Tucker. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, May 5th at 1pm. The visiting hours are one hour prior to the service from 12-1pm. at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington St., Taunton, MA 02780. Burial is private at the request of the family.
