Silvino Ferreira, age 81 of Fall River, passed away peacefully May 2, 2012 with his children by his side. He was the widower of Maria de Lourdes (Oliveira) Ferreira. Born in Santo Antonio Alem Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late José and Laurina (Soares Oliveira) Ferreira. Prior to retiring, he worked for the Foxboro Co. as a maintenance man and he also worked as a technician for Optometrist Dr. Joseph Medeiros, and was a parishioner of Espirito Santo Church.
Silvino was the father of Mary Lou El-Husayni of Walpole, Antone Ferreira of Fall River, Joseph Ferreira of Westport, Fernando Ferreira of Fall River, and Richard Ferreira of N. Dartmouth; brother of Alice Martins of São Miguel, Açores, Francelina Botelho, Antonio Ferreira, & Alberto Ferreira all of Canada, and the late Jacinto, José, Serafim Ferreira; grandfather of 8, and uncle to several nieces & nephews
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St., Fall River SATURDAY at 9:00 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling hours FRIDAY 5-9 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com
