Betty L. Wisham Tucker, 77, of Cordele died Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Tift Memorial Gardens. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with burial to follow. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 3, 2012, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mrs. Tucker was born on October 26, 1934 in Sylvester and was the daughter of James Ambrose Wisham and Agnes Beckham Wisham, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin “Jake” D. Tucker; and two brothers, Willie Wisham and J. L. Wisham; and one sister, Reba Monroe. She lived in Tifton for 46 years and was retired from Tift Health Care. She was of the Baptist faith and loved her special friend, E. A. Youngblood and her dog, Jack.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Diane Tucker of Gainesville; one daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Tucker and Richard Huckaby of Cordele; and one granddaughter, Ella Tucker.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to a no-kill animal shelter of your choice.
