Henry Kitchens, 76, of Fitzgerald Georgia died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at his son's residence in New Market, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, May 4, 2012, at Church of the Nazarene in Fitzgerald with the Rev. Dan Hayes officiating. Interment will follow in Young Cemetery in Ben Hill County. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.
Mr. Kitchens was born June 13, 1935 in Sandersville, GA to the late Harvey Lee and Dovie Mae Horton Kitchens. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps during Korean War Era, he was a former employee of G.B. Woods and Son in Fitzgerald and the A & P Store in Milledgeville, GA. He also was an agent for Coastal States Insurance Company and drove a log truck for John O. Cook Logging.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Livingston Kitchens of Fitzgerald; son, Tim Kitchens and Samantha Morrow of New Market, MD; grandson, T. Scott Kitchens of Palm Springs, CA; brothers, Grady Kitchens of Sandersville, GA and Glen Kitchens of Eatonton, GA.
