Obituary

Harman, Frank R. Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky passed away from a sudden heart attack on Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
Frank was 56 years old and would have celebrated his 57th Birthday on May 10th. Frank was born in Rangoon, Burma to Frank R. Harman and Florence Teresa Harman. The Harman family moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1963. Frank was one of six siblings. He worked his entire career in the air cargo industry in California, South Florida and Kentucky. During Frank's final eighteen years he was employed by United Parcel Services where he garnered many accolades for the company for his extensive community work. Frank's co-workers remember him for his ability to bring a smile to everyone's face in the grimmest of circumstances and for making their challenging days a little less challenging. Frank's true calling was as a volunteer advocate for the homeless. He dedicated his time and resources to the various causes he supported. He received many distinguished service awards over the past fifteen years in recognition of his valuable cooperation and contributions made to help the least, the last, and the lost of the Louisville Metro Area. Frank was also an accomplished equestrian competing in hunter jumper events most of his life on his beloved horses. He is predeceased by Domino and Caroline and survived by his Lily, a fine thoroughbred mare.
Frank is survived by his siblings and numerous adoring nieces. He is survived by his brother Farley J. Harman of Rocklin, California (Mary), his sister Fiona A. Von Krosigk of Cheyenne, Wyoming, his brothers, Felix P. Harman and Floyd M. Harman of Denver, Colorado. He is also survived by his nieces Devon, Kacee, Rebekah, Jessica, Jennifer and Christine and great-niece, Hailey along with numerous friends across the country. He is predeceased by his parents, his brother, Fred, and his grandmother, Daw Ohn Harman. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Wayside Christian Mission, 120 West Broadway, Louisville, KY 40202. Arrangements are pending with Owen Family Funeral Homes, Louisville, KY.
