WORCESTER: Elizabeth T. (Lenihan) Ormon, 96, formerly of Canterbury Towers, died Saturday, April 28, 2012 at Life Care Center of Auburn. Her husband of 45 years, Everett Ormon, died January 7, 1982.
She leaves her daughter, Betty Ann Carpenter and her husband John of Auburn; 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; 2 nieces and many nephews. A son, William E. Ormon and a brother, Francis Lenihan, both predeceased her. She was born and raised in Worcester, daughter of the late John E. and Theresa (Harrison) Lenihan and was a graduate of Commerce High School.
Elizabeth had worked in housekeeping and also as a housemother at City Hospital School of Nursing for several years before she retired. She had been a member of the Massachusetts Senior Action Council, the PTA and Neighbor to Neighbor. She was active in politics and an avid Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed reading, walking, bowling and spending time with her family.
CALLING HOURS will be from 5 to 8 P.M. on THURSDAY, MAY 3 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 11 A.M. on FRIDAY, MAY 4 at ST. JOHN’S CHURCH, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery.
