Gloria Jeanne Abrahams Kulbersh, 83, of Tifton died Sunday, April 29, 2012, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, in Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald. Rabbi Moshe Elbaz will officiate with burial to follow.
Mrs. Kulbersh was born on February 3, 1929 in Valdosta and was the daughter of Harry Abrahams and Bess Bierman Abrahams, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Melvin “Buddy” Kulbersh, who died in 2009.
Members of the Kulbersh family have been in Tifton for more than 100 years. They operated a family clothing store for 67 successful years. During this period, the Kulbersh family made many contributions to the support and betterment of our community. Solicitors for worthy causes always knew that they could count on the Kulbershs to do their part and more.
Mrs. Kulbersh is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Paul and Harriet Kulbersh of Savannah; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dr. Alan Sommers of Scottsdale, Arizona; one granddaughter and her husband, Dana and Eric Bernath of Atlanta; one grandson and his wife, Dr. Brian and Jennifer Kulbersh of Chicago, Illinois; and two great-grandchildren.
