Anthony V. Leo, of Stoneham, formerly of Medford and Boston’s North End, died peacefully Saturday night at the Arnold House in Stoneham, surrounded by his loving family. He was 84.
Mr. Leo was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Vincenzo and Lucia Leo. A graduate of Charlestown High School, Anthony went on to earn an Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Franklin Institute in Boston. For much of his career, Anthony was a General Manager for Nature Foods Centres and Lee Nutrition of Cambridge. Anthony enjoyed traveling both throughout the United States and Europe with Clara, his wife of 60 wonderful loving years. He was a fan of Boston sports teams, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
The beloved husband of Clara F. (Biagioni) Leo, He was a devoted father to Kathryn J. Leo-Nyquist and her husband David of Shelburne, VT; Patricia Leo of San Francisco, CA; James J. Leo and his wife Cathy of Winchester; Richard A. Leo and his wife Sandra of Revere; and Janice Leo Deveney of Waltham. Anthony was a proud and loving grandfather to Dennis, Jr. Jamie, Ryan, Christopher, James and Anthony Deveney; Colin and Stefan Leo-Nyquist; Mary Beth and Robert Leo; and a dear step-grandfather to Alex and Chris Callas. He was a loving great-grandfather to Gianna Rose, Jackson James, Ryan Joseph, Annabelle Grace, Paul Dennis Deveney and also leaves many nieces and nephews as well as the devoted nurses and caregivers at the Arnold House in Stoneham.
He is predeceased by his siblings: Edith Vento and Gaetano “Danny”, Rocco, Carmine Leo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday evening from 4 through 8 PM and again on Thursday, May 3rd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
