Clifford A. Titus, Jr., 83, a lifelong resident of Norton, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Friday April 27, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was the beloved husband of the late Alice R. (Houde) Titus who died on Oct. 27, 2002.
Born in Taunton, MA on October 23, 1928, he was a son of the late Clifford A., Sr. and Alice R. (Hogan ) Titus.
Cliff grew up in Norton and was educated in Norton public schools. During the Korean War he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. He was honorably discharged from the service with the rank of Corporal.
For over 30 years before retiring, Mr. Titus had been employed as the Executive Chef at the former Ann’s Place Restaurant in Norton.
Cliff was an avid fisherman and gardener. He loved spending time with his adoring family, and also enjoyed attending horse and greyhound racing events.
He is survived by his devoted sons; Arthur A. Titus and his wife Ann, John M. Titus and Clifford A. Titus, III all of Norton. The brother of Francis Titus of Attleboro, Glenn Titus of Taunton and Calvin Titus of Attleboro, he is also survived by his cherished grandchildren; Aimee E. Cegelka and her husband Martin of Norton, Chad A. Titus and his wife Cheryl of Attleboro and Elisabeth R. Titus of Seekonk, his great granddaughters; Chloe E. and Kari M. Cegelka both of Norton, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Saturday May 5th from 9:00-11:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.
Funeral Services will be held at the conclusion of visitation at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow in the Timothy Plain Cemetery, Norton.
In lieu of flowers, the Titus family has requested that donations in Cliff’s memory be made to the Make- A -Wish Foundation of MA, One Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
