Rufus Roy "Nut" Folson, age 67, died Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Trinity Hospice House in Collierville, TN. He was born March 2, 1945 in Yalobusha County, MS to the late George Washington and Ilene Morgan Folson. Nut was a farmer and worked for Ingram Farms in Water Valley, MS he was a member of Sanders Chapel Church.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Sanders Chapel Church in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at the Water Valley Civic Auditorium at 1:00 PM on Monday, April 30, 2012 with Rev. Irvin Ray Phillips officiating. Burial will be in the Sanders Chapel Church Cemetery with Tyrone Folson, Luther Folson, Timothy Folson, Anthony Folson, Darrell Folson, Craig Hawkins, Casey Hawkins and James Hall serving as pallbearers.
Nut is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Stokes of Horn Lake, MS and Penelope Stokes of Memphis, TN; three sons, Ken Folson (Cassandra) of Water Valley, MS, Cecil Folson of Charleston, MS and Travis Stokes of Horn Lake, MS; three brothers, Luther Folson (Willie Ester) of Water Valley, MS, Charles Folson (Christine) of Memphis, TN and Freddie Folson (Mary Ann) of Water Valley, MS; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ernestine Stokes; two sisters, Evalena Hawkins and Ella Quay Hall; and one brother, G. W. Folson.
