Dartmouth-Paul A. Silveira died April 19, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with A.L.S. (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). His Loving Companion Cathleen Grant Gifford of North Dartmouth. Her son David B. Gifford of Westport. His brother William B. Silveira and his wife Jeanne of Scarborough, ME. His Sister-in-Law Mary Silveira of Madison, WI. his niece Arlene Silveira of Madison, WI. his niece Heidi Leinonen of Scarborough, ME. his nephew Thomas J. Silveira of Charlotsville, VA. His nephew John Silveira of Colechester, CT. He was the brother of the late Edwin, Anthony, and Marie Silveira. He is also survived by 3 great-nephews, and 3 great-nieces.
Mr. Silveira was born in New Bedford the son of the late Antonio B. and Anna H. (Bettencourt) Silveira. He was a salesman with Schuster Corp. before his retirement. He previously worked at M.C. Swift Clothing Store, and Morse Cutting Tools.
Mr. Silveira graduated from New Bedford High School Class of “56”, Bristol Community College with an Associates Degree.
Visiting hours will be Thursday April 22, 2004 from 4-8 P.M. Funeral will be Friday April 23, 2004 at 9 A. M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. with Rev. Francis Morse Officiating the services.
