Obituary

CHICOPEE – Dorothy C. (Senecal) Langevin, 81, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 25, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life at Loomis House in Holyoke surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on December 27, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Edward P. and Delia V. (Girard) Senecal. She was raised in the Willimansett section of Chicopee, graduated in 1948 from Chicopee High School and moved to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1960. She furthered her education and graduated from the Forsyth School of Dental Hygienists in Boston. She was employed in the dental offices of Dr. Barsalou on Appleton Street in Holyoke and then for Dr. Rypysc in Chicopee. She was a loving wife and mother who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee where she was a member of the Saint Anne Sodality Guild. She was also a member of the Chicopee Falls Women’s Club. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Francis R. Langevin, who was Called Home on May 10, 1999. They were married on June 15, 1957 at the former Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Willimansett and were blessed with over 41 years of happiness together. She leaves: her loving children, Michele M. Grandbois and her husband, Norman, and Daniel F. Langevin and his wife, Sherri, all of Chicopee, Karen A. Teerlinck and her husband, Steven, of Monson, and Jennifer D. Bednar and her husband, Joseph, of Chicopee; her six cherished grandchildren, Eric Fontaine and his wife, Wretha, Chantal Blair and her husband, Dustin, Timothy Clarke, Benjamin Teerlinck, Samuel Teerlinck and Nathan Bednar; her four cherished great grandchildren, Caleb Fontaine, Hannah Fontaine, Eric Fontaine and Aiden Blair; her sister-in-law, Constance Senecal, of Amherst; her nephews, Stephen Senecal and his wife, Tracy, of Chicopee and Thomas Senecal and his wife, Jeanne, of South Hadley; and her niece, Christine Adams and her husband, Chip, of the Florence section of Northampton. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, William Senecal. Her family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers at the Loomis House in Holyoke for the exceptional care and comfort that they provided to Dorothy and her family. Her funeral will be held on Monday morning, April 30, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Saint Patrick Cemetery, Fuller Road, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, April 29, 2012 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Loomis House Nursing Center, 298 Jarvis Avenue, Holyoke, MA 01040.
