Marion C. Aylward, 96

Marion C. (Denman) Aylward, 96, of Pawtucket, formerly of Mansfield and Dorchester, passed away in the presence of her loving family, on Wednesday April 25, 2012 at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket.
She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Aylward, Sr., to whom she was wed for nearly 49 years at the time of his death in 1982.
Born in Boston, MA on June 25, 1915, she was a devoted daughter of the late Frederick, Sr. and Mary (Forden) Denman.
Marion grew up in the Roxbury section of Boston. Thru the eight grade she was educated in St. Patrick’s School, and was a graduate of Roxbury Memorial High School.
A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Aylward had made her home at the Jeanne Jugan Residence for past 3years where her family was so grateful for the care and kindness shown to Marion.
A former resident of Mansfield for 25 years, she was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Marion enjoyed crocheting and baking and will always be remembered for her world famous apple pies and plum pudding.
Mrs. Aylward was quite family orientated and loved being in the presence of her family. She will always remembered for her kind hearted mannerism and the way she made others around her feel welcome.
She is survived by her beloved children; William F. Aylward, Jr. and his wife Sylvia of Altamont, NY, Sister Louise Marie o.c.d. of Concord, NH, Sister Mary Augustine l.s.p. of Somerville, and twins Karen L. Guardabascio and her husband Frank of Mansfield and Kathleen L. Chappell and her husband William, Sr. of Raynham. The dear sister of the late Frederick, Jr., Walter, Theodore and Arthur Denman, Irene Denman, Mildred Corley, Anna Corley and Esther Denman, she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Linda Robey of Norton, Donna Murray of NY, William Aylward, III of Cambridge, Sharon Aylward and Kevin Aylward both of VA, Lisa Cannon, MD of RI, Francis Guardabascio of Stoughton, Andrew Guardabascio of Mansfield, Katelyn Chappell of NY, and Kimberly Chappell and William Chappell, Jr. both of Raynham, as well as 7 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday April 30th at 10:30 A.M. in the chapel of the Jeanne Jugan Residence, 964 Main St., Pawtucket. Burial will be at 1:45 P.M. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday April 29th from 4-8 P.M. at the Jeanne Jugan Residence in Pawtucket.
In lieu of flowers, Marion’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main St., Pawtucket, RI 02860.
