Obituary

DUDLEY – Herbert G. Raymond, 77, of Joshua Place, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in UMass/Memorial Healthcare, Worcester, with his family at his side.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Joan M. “Dolly” (Roszkiewicz) Raymond; a son, Kenneth F. Raymond and his wife Debbie of Webster; a brother, Paul Raymond of Charlton; 3 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Antkowiak.
He was born and raised in Webster, the son of Herbert E. and Josephine (Fitzback) Raymond. He lived in Webster before moving to Dudley in 2006. He attended Bartlett High School.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Raymond was the caretaker at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Webster for 29 years, retiring in 2004. He was a member of St. Joseph Basilica in Webster and a life member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 27, at 10:00 AM in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Webster. The Webster-Dudley Veterans Council will perform the military honors at the cemetery. Calling hours are private. Donations in his name may be made to the Friends of Saint Joseph School Fund, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
