Cecil Eugene Rhodes
Cecil Eugene Rhodes, 74, Clarksville, TN died Wednesday April 25, 2012 at Tennova Residential Hospice in Knoxville, TN.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday April 29, 2012 at 1:30 P.M. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Larry Spraker officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday from 3-6 P.M. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home.
He was born July 5, 1937 son of the late John Edward Rhodes and Jenny Mae Rogers Rhodes.
Cecil was a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University and was a retired school teacher with Dickson County. He was co-owner of Kiddieland Child Care Center on Madison Street and was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
His passion was hunting, fishing and gold prospecting. He wrote a book of Deer Hunting Stories.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Yvonne Oakes Rhodes; a son, Cecil Eugene Rhodes, Jr. (Shelley), Highpoint, NC; a daughter, Janice Carlene Halliday (Eddie), Knoxville, TN; four grandchildren: Christine Halliday Fitzgerald (Ryan), Charles Dawson Halliday, Harrison Lee Rhodes, and John Gavin Rhodes; brothers,
James Rhodes, Mississippi: and Fred Rhodes, Arizona; two sisters, Edith Rhodes Lopresto, Connecticut; and Evelyn Rhodes Masella, Arizona .
