Donald Eugene Adcock, 77, of Eldorado died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2012, at Wayside Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Hamilton will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Carl Ray. Burial will follow in Eldorado Baptist Church Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Moore, Randall Moore, Bob Burnett and Moody Huggins. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 26, 2012, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mr. Adcock will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Adcock was born on March 6, 1935 in Eldorado and was the son of Alvin Neal Adcock, Sr. and Florence Shannon Adcock, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Adcock, Jim Adcock, and A.N. Adcock, Jr.; and two sisters, Sara F. Moore and Faye Berkeypile. He was retired from Tifton Aluminum/Alcoa and a member of Wayside Baptist Church. He was a Mason for over 50 years and volunteer fire chief for the Eldorado Volunteer Fire Department. He also served in the National Guard.
Mr. Adcock is survived by his wife, Beatrice Groves Adcock of Eldorado; one son, David Adcock of Eldorado; and one brother, Robert Adcock of Suwannee, Florida.
