Obituary



Robert J. Trussell, Sr., 70, of Methuen, died Monday April 23, 2012 at Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence after a lengthy illness. He passed while surrounded in the love of his family.
Robert, son of the late Theodore “Buddy” and Kathleen “Kay” (Cavanaugh) Trussell, was born in Methuen on January 13, 1942 and lived here all of his life. Robert was the former owner and operator of Multi Lab, Inc. in Methuen for many years. He was proud of his two Pug dogs, Minnie and Dexter and was an enthusiastic fan of Boston sports. He also greatly enjoyed playing card games and had a wonderful sense of humor that will be missed by so many.
Robert was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving as a medic in the 82nd Airborne. He was honorably discharged in 1962.
Robert will be sadly missed by his beloved wife, Donna P. (Caccese) Trussell with whom he would have celebrated fifty years of marriage in October; two sons, Robert J. Trussell, Jr. of Methuen, Paul C. Trussell and his wife Wendy of Methuen, one daughter, Tracy A. Kearney of Methuen; three brothers, Edward Trussell and his wife Carolyn of Lawrence, William Trussell and his wife Ann of Methuen and Ted Trussell of Methuen; one sister, Patricia Caron and her husband Tom of Salisbury; his sister-in-law, Louise Santomassimo and his nephew, John Santomassimo, Jr., both of Lawrence. five grandchildren, Anthony Trussell, Eden Faith Trussell, Nathan Trussell, Taylor Trussell and James Trussell and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gina Marie Trussell who died many years ago; his brother, Michael Trussell. his sister, Rosemary Defeo and his brother-in-law, John Santomassimo.
Family and friends will be warmly received in the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence St., Methuen on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 4-8 pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Corpus Christi/Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 10 AM. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
