Obituary

KANNAPEL, MAURICE "BUD," 73, of Louisville, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Bud was born in New Albany, IN to Margret Burgess Kannapel and Maurice F. (Monty) Kannapel.

Bud lived his life in New Albany, IN until he married the love of his life Diann. He retired from Local 107/502 and went to work for the City of Louisville as chief pluming inspector, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his step-father, James "Pop" Robinson.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of 49 1/2 years, Diann; his daughters, Julie Stuart (Jay), Terri Albert (Rab); and a special son, Todd. The lights of his life, his special grandchildren, Matt and Alyssa Albert. Phoebe Faust, Bill and Pat Rogers, Erick and Debbie Faust and Lynn Faust; countless nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins.

A funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Incarnation Catholic Church, 2229 Lowe Hunters Trace with burial to follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 1-8 p.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southwest Development Center (Todd's Workshop), Mass of the Air or Hosprus of Louisville.
