Hilda Sue Mills Ross, age 74, died Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. She was born November 27, 1937 in Lafayette County, MS to the late Marion Doyle and Ester Myrtle Mills. Hilda was a homemaker and a member of Taylor Baptist Church in Lafayette County, MS. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. Funeral services will be held at10:00 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Creek Cemetery in Lafayette County, MS with David Mills, Jeff Mills, Kevin Knight, Bill Knight, Chris Downs and Matthew Downs serving as pallbearers. Tim Mills will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
Hilda is survived by her daughter, Lisa Dawn Downs (Donny) of Batesville, MS; her son, Rodney Ross (Sheryll) of Paonia, CO; four grandchildren, Chris Downs, Matthew Downs (Jessica), Jason Ross and Jennifer Ross Byrage (Stewy).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Ross; four sisters, Esther Varner, Emily Varner, Edna Luther, and Laverne Knight; and five brothers, James Arthur Mills, Buddy Mills, Melvin Mills, Elton Mills and Tommy Mills.
