Kathleen (Lowney) Kalife, 56, of Fairhaven passed away Saturday April 21, 2012 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of James J. Kalife.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of Mary (Muldoon) Lowney of Fairhaven and the late Paul J. Lowney, she lived in Fairhaven for the past 20 years.
Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Her greatest joy in life was her son Johnny. She loved making her nieces and nephews feel extra special. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, entertaining, and traveling. She was a very giving person with a wonderful sense of humor. She lived her life to the fullest.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; her son, Johnny; her siblings, Mary Beth Lowney Boy and her husband Everett of West Dennis, Patricia L'Abbe and her husband Russell of New Bedford, Margaret Shaefer and her husband Dr. Jeffry of Hingham, Maureen Laferriere and her husband Louis of Key West, FL, Paul J. Lowney, Jr. and his wife Maureen of West Yarmouth, and Ellen Shea and her husband Richard of New Bedford; her dear friend and confidant, Fr. Gabriel Healy; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Fairhaven. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday from 3-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Remembrances may be made to Damien's Place Food Pantry, P.O.
