David M. Gallien, 56, of Derry, NH, died Thursday April 19, 2012 at his home. He was born in Ft. Devens, MA on February 5, 1956, a son of Frances J. (Havens) Gallien of Derry, and the late Francis E. Gallien. As a youth, he played basketball, baseball and football, playing in the All Stars with all three sports while his father served in the military. He had been employed as a Union carpenter in Connecticut working in high rise buildings, as well as a building contractor in the Southern NH area. David was an avid golfer and a member of the Hoodkroft Country Club in Derry for many years. He enjoyed skiing in his younger years.
In addition to his mother of Derry; he is survived by two sons, Jamie Gallien of Goffstown, NH, and Shawn Gallien of North Carolina; three brothers, Edward Gallien of Derry, Paul Gallien of Tilton, NH, and William Gallien of Derry; one sister, Marsha Klein of North Carolina; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his daughter, Rachel Marie Gallien in 2001.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 25th at 10:30am in the Forest Hill Cemetery, E. Derry Rd., E. Derry. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
