Obituary

Ruth R. (Dwinell) Ingalls, 93, passed away on April 11, 2012 in Masconomet Healthcare Center. She was the wife of the late Kenneth L. Ingalls.
Born in Salem on Nov. 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Susan Marion (Kelley) Dwinell. Ruth graduated from Topsfield High School in 1936 and went on to graduate from the Wilfred Beauty Academy. Ruth owned and operated Ruth’s Beauty Shop on Salem Road in Topsfield for nearly 40 years. She had been a member of the Girls Scouts for over 83 years. Ruth was a former member of the Spar and Spindle Council and the Silver Trefoil. Ruth was extremely active within her community. She was a member of the Topsfield- Boxford Community Club, the Essex Agricultural Society and the Topsfield Council on Aging. She was also a Topsfield Correspondent for the Danvers Herald Newspaper. Ruth was a member of the Topsfield Congregational Church since 1930 and a member of the Ladies Society and a Deaconess Emeritus of the church.
She is survived by a son John K. Ingalls of Topsfield, two daughters Susan M. Petridis of Greece and Sandra M. Neunaber of Lynnfield, six grandchildren, Kenneth and David Seeley, Lesley Kerr, Carl Neunaber, Katina and Yannie Petridis, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late John W. Dwinell.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 1PM on Friday, May 4, 2012 in Topsfield Congregational Church. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Topsfield Council on Aging, 8 W. Common St, Topsfield, MA, 01983 or the Girls Scout of Eastern Mass, 1740 Turnpike St, N. Andover MA, 01845.
