Hertha R. (Jäger) Gonsalves, 69, of New Bedford died Wednesday April 11, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Gonsalves.
Born in Stuttgart, Germany, the daughter of the late Hans and Maria Jäger, she lived in New Bedford for many years.
Mrs. Gonsalves was a hairdresser who owned and operated her own hair salon for many years.
She had been one of Jehovah's Witnesses for the past 18 years. She enjoyed letter writing and talking to people about the Bible over the telephone.
Survivors include her children, Michael Gonsalves and his wife Pauline, Tanya Weber and her husband Neil, and Tina Gonsalves; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
