Obituary

CHICOPEE – Jeannette C. (Lefebvre) Lambert, 81, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life surrounded by her eight loving children, their spouses and her wonderful grandchildren. Her Journey Home was made easy by the caring and compassionate staff of doctors and nurses at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield. She was born at home on Felix Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on October 30, 1930, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Lena (Bergeron) Lefebvre. She was raised in Aldenville, graduated from Saint Joan of Arc Elementary School and Cathedral High School in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of the Aldenville section of the city. She was employed for 40 years as a key punch operator and a payroll clerk at the former A. G. Spalding Company in the Willimansett section of Chicopee and retired in 1995. Active in her faith, she was a lifelong communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. She was a loving mother whose main focus was her family whom she treasured. Jeannette nurtured, protected, loved and bonded her family together, for which they will all be eternally grateful. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband of 37 years, Oscar A. Lambert who was Called Home on October 6, 1988. She leaves: her eight loving children, Diane M. Valcourt and her husband, David of Woodbridge, VA, Denise J. Gramarossa and her husband, Paul of Springfield, Darlene D. Fiorentino and her husband, Thomas and Daniel T. Lambert and his wife, Pamela, all of West Springfield, Douglas J. Lambert and his wife, Debra and Debra J. Fotopoulos and her husband, George, II, all of Chicopee, David A. Lambert and his wife, Michele of Easthampton, and Dawn L. Shirely and her husband, Delbert of Chicopee; her 24 cherished grandchildren, Danielle Foote and her husband, Michael, David Valcourt and his wife, Stephanie, and Michelle Valcourt; Carrie Gaudette and her husband, Steven, Michael, Katie and Daniel Gramarossa; Jamie, Lindsey and Ashley Fiorentino; Shannon, Nicole and Kimberly Lambert; Sarah and Steven Lambert; Jennifer Fotopoulos and George Fotopoulos, III; Amy, Rebecca, Amanda and Rachel Lambert; and Jacob, Benjamin and Hannah Shirely; her four cherished great grandchildren, Caroline and Emily Foote; Darren Gaudette and Zoie Gramarossa; her dear sisters and brother, Marguerite Meunier, Richard Lefebvre and his wife, Ann and Arline Dobosz and her husband, Arthur, all of Edgewater, FL; her many dear nephews and nieces; and her cherished goddaughter, Patricia Laiho. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Helen Landry. Her funeral will be held on Friday morning, April 20, 2012 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020 (funeral home will open at 8 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 600 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
