Doris A. (Keefe) Flanigan of Marshfield passed away peacefully at home April 13, 2012. Born and raised in Boston, daughter of the late Patrick G. and Margaret L. Keefe, she was a 50+ year resident of Marshfield. After raising her children and working at the Daniel Webster School and Cohasset Knoll Nursing Home, Doris fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated from the Quincy Junior College Nursing Program top in her class and worked as an LPN at Braintree Rehabilitation Hospital for 10+ years.
Loving and devoted wife of 54 years to William J.Flanigan. Doris was the loving mother of W. Scott Flanigan and his wife Sonja of Aberdeen, MD, Patricia A.Flanigan of Marshfield and Paul E.Flanigan and his wife Cara of Andover, MA. Cherished grandmother of Katherine, Casey and Kristen. Dear sister of Phillip Keefe of FL, Alan Keefe of ME, and the late Phyllis Niland and Margaret Keefe.
Doris will be sorely missed by all those who had the pleasure to know her.
Family and friends are invited to visiting hours at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St. rte 139 Marshfield on Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Funeral from the funeral home on Wednesday April 18 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Ann by the Sea Church 591 Ocean St. at 11:00 a.m.
Interment in Couch Cemetery in Marshfield.
