METHUEN – Mary Jane “Mae” (Holland) Jennings, 92 of Methuen, MA died peacefully on Thursday April 12, 2012 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen, MA.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of George and Jane (Barrett) Holland. Mae graduated from Lawrence High School with the Class of 1936 and also McIntosh Business School. She worked in the Ayer Mill in Lawrence and for 10 years was an admitting clerk at Bon Secours Hospital in Methuen.
According to her family, Mae was very creative and wrote poetry that was filled with humor. She loved interior design and was constantly redecorating her home and the homes of her friends. Mae was an avid reader, loved the ocean, especially traveling to Salisbury Beach, Hampton and in later years to Ogunquit Beach in Maine.
The widow of Edward T. Jennings with whom she shared a love affair of over 50 years, she is survived by her children, Kathleen LeBlanc and her husband Roger of Haverhill, MA, Mary Jane and Jude Jennings of Methuen, MA and Edward “Bud” Jennings and his partner Richard P. Brown of Salem, MA. Mae also leaves a surrogate daughter Barbara Klenner of Methuen, MA, three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Jean Jennings.
She was predeceased by her brother Edmund Holland.

Family and friends will be warmly received to celebrate Mae’s life on Tuesday April 17, 2012 from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H.
