Obituary

Halifax – Arthur R. “Bill” Landry 70, died Wednesday April 11 after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of fifty years to Deborah M. (Enos) Landry.

Born in Brockton and raised in Whitman, he was the son of the late Arthur W. and H. Louise (Mitchell) (Landry) Taylor, and stepson of the late George Taylor.

He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School, and had worked locally for over 50 years as a self-employed carpenter.

He was an avid fan of all the Boston sports teams, enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing Keno, and he along with his wife Deborah had always loved to dance. He treasured his vacations in Aruba but his greatest joy came from the time spent with his family.

In addition to his wife Deborah, he is survived by his loving children Theresa Landry of Piermont, NH, Dawn Smith and her husband Aaron of Beals, ME, Arthur Landry of Taunton and Michelle Landry and her companion Charles Chuckran of Halifax, his sisters Carole Whitman of Bridgewater, Shirley Wilkinson of East Bridgewater, and Lynn O’Brien of Bridgewater, and his brother Scott Taylor of Brockton. He is also survived by his grandsons and his great granddaughter all of Maine as well as several nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers. He was the brother of the late James Landry, Judith Meade, Renee Rogers, Jeffrey Taylor and Mildred Landry.

His funeral service will be held Tuesday April 17 at 10 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours will be held Monday April 16 from 4-8 PM.
