Pauline C. Towne, 83 of Derry, NH formerly of North Andover, died on April 11, 2012 at Aurora Senior Living of Derry, NH. She was born in Lawrence MA on November 21, 1928, and was the daughter of Wilfred and Cecile (Harvey) Guay. She was raised and educated in Lawrence, and was a graduate of St. Mary High School, of, Lawrence. She was a long time resident of North Andover, prior to moving to Derry to be closer to family. She worked for many years as a telephone operator with AT&T. Pauline loved music, and taking long drives. She was artistic by nature played the piano wonderfully and wrote beautiful poetry. In retirement she spent many hours volunteering for Holy Family Hospital and Parkland Medical Center. She loved her family , and will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by her husband Warren E. Towne Sr. in 1985.
Surviving family members include her son Warren E. Towne Jr. and his wife Donna of Derry, NH; her daughter Anne-Marie Towne of Methuen, MA; her daughter Leslie Zahoruiko and her husband John of North Andover, MA; her son Craig Towne of Derry, NH, six grandchildren Warren, Amanda, Jessie, Alex, Tyler and Alyssa, her brother John P. Guay and his wife Barbara of Webster, NH;.
Calling hours were held Sunday April 15, 2012 from 2 - 4pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A funeral service was held Monday at 10am in the funeral home. Following cremation, interment of her cremated remains was in the Ridgewood Cemetery in North Andover.
