EASTON - Manuel Soares, III, husband of Betty A. (Finch) Soares, died peacefully at his Easton home, surrounded by his family on April 11, 2012.
He was 69.
Born, raised and educated in Taunton, he was the son of the late Manuel and Maria (Santos) Soares, Jr.
He attended the former Coyle High School in Taunton.
An Easton resident for many years, Mr. Soares owned and operated Soares Farm and was a livestock broker.
A communicant of Taunton’s St. Anthony Church, and member of the parish’s Holy Ghost Society, Mr. Soares enjoyed attending hall auctions and fiestas, having breakfast with friends, and spending time with his family.
He was a lover of all animals.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Diane M. Soares and her husband Herbert Aponte of Taunton; two sons, Manuel Soares, IV and his fiancé, Joana Paiva of Taunton, and Kurt Soares and his wife Kara of West Bridgewater; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was also the brother of the late Diane Arruda and Debra Soares.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, April 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church, Taunton at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 13th from 4 to 8 p.m.
