SPRINGFIELD – Argyro (Trikas) Mylonakis, 89, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Monday, April 9, 2012. She passed into Eternal Life from her home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers from Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice. She was born in Hudson, Massachusetts on November 8, 1922, a beloved daughter of the late Antonios and Pagona (Nicholutis) Trikas. At a young age, she moved with her family back to Greece, where she lived until moving to Springfield in 1948. During her years in Springfield, she was employed as a baker at the former A & P Bakery on Plainfield Street in Springfield. She was a wonderful cook, baker and enjoyed making many special dishes and treats for her family. During her leisure time, she was often seen by many of her neighbors working in her garden. She was a loving woman who adored her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was a faithful communicant of Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Springfield. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, George Mylonakis, who was Called Home on September 20, 1997. She leaves: her loving children, Eftihis Mylonakis and his wife, MaryAnn, of the Indian Orchard section of Springfield, Niki Haslam of Enfield, CT, Antonios Mylonakis and his wife, Joy, of Orlando, FL, and Michael Haley of New Hampshire, who was like a devoted son; her eight cherished grandchildren whom she adored, Katina Goshtasby and her husband, Parviz, and James Mylonakis, all of California, Kim Beaulieu and her husband, Keith, Mark Mylonakis and Niki Mylonakis, all of Palmer, George Mylonakis and his wife, Ashley, of New Hampshire, and Andrea Mylonakis and Nicholas Mylonakis, both of Florida; her five cherished great-grandchildren whom she also adored, Maria and Nicholas Beaulieu, both of Palmer, Arietta Goshtasby of California, and Cassidy Mylonakis and Ella Mylonakis, both of Palmer; her dear brothers, Steve Trikas and his wife, Evangelia, of East Longmeadow and Haralambos Trikas and his wife, Amalia, of California; her dear sisters, Irene Peros of Springfield, Arhontoula Tzambazakis of Springfield, and Marika Bastresakis of Greece; and her many dear nephews and nieces. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her dear brother and sister-in law, George Trikas and his wife, Angie. Her funeral will be held on Thursday morning, April 12, 2012, beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 11:15 a.m.) followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. in Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 2320 Main Street, Springfield, MA 01107. Her burial will follow the service at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA 01109. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home in the Chapin Chapel on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 22 Saint George Road, Springfield, MA 01104.
