Obituary

Worcester--Edward “Eddie” Markarian, 73, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Saint Vincent Hospital. He will be sadly missed by his wife of 46 years, Gladys (Janian) Markarian; his son, Gary S. Markarian of Atlantic City; his 2 daughters, Diane L. Markarian and Debra L. Markarian both of Worcester; his 2 brothers, Gilbert S. Markarian of S. Dennis and Sarkis Markarian of Worcester; and 1 niece and 3 nephews.

He was born in Worcester, son of Sarkis and Mary (Gananian) Markarian and was a life-long Worcester resident. He was a graduate of South High School. Mr. Markarian owned and operated Antiques International on Pleasant Street in Worcester and was a Worcester real-estate owner and antique dealer for over 45 years. He was a member of The Armenian Church of Our Saviour. A worldly man, Eddie touched the lives of many through his charm, generosity, abundance of wisdom, and his gentle spirit.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 17, from Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Flowers may be sent or contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to The Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester, MA 01609.
