Obituary

Allen K. DEXTER, 86, of Danielson Pike, President of Dexter Brothers before retiring in 1993, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, surrounded by his family, at Briarcliff Manor. He was the husband of the late Mae (Werntz) Dexter.
Born in Scituate, he was a son of the late Irving and Bertha (Dexter) Dexter. He was a lifelong resident of Scituate. He was a WWII Navy Veteran, a member of the American Legion, PT Boaters Assoc., Hamilton Lodge, No. 15, F&AM, Scituate Ambulance Corps and Captain of his boat, JenJen which he kept at the Pleasant Street Wharf.
He is survived by his daughter, Deborah D. King and her husband, Nelson, his son, Robert A. Dexter and his wife, Holly, all of Scituate; three grand-children: Jeremy Dexter and his wife Juli, Kristin Harrington, Justin King and his fiancée Kristy Battersby and five great granddaughters: Abigail, Amelia, Ella and Eve Dexter and Brigitte Harrington. He was the grandfather of the late Jennifer King.
Funeral service Thursday at 9AM in the North Scituate Baptist Church, 619 West Greenville Road, North Scituate, RI 02857. Burial will follow in the Smithville Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7pm in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to North Scituate Baptist Church or Scituate Ambulance Corps, Po Box 333, North Scituate, RI 02857.
