Charles A. ‘Chicky’ Lamb
On Thursday, April 5, 2012, Charles A. Lamb passed away after a brief period of declining health.
Chicky was born December 9, 1942 in Worcester to Charles J. and Esther (Brash) Lamb. Although he contracted polio at nine months of age, he defined the odds and went on to live a meaningful and inspiring life.
Making the most of each and every day, Chicky could often be found outdoors with his shades on catching rays, and maybe driving a little too fast in his motorized wheelchair. Material possessions were not important to Chick. His idea of wealth was family, friends, good conversation and a beautiful day. He was also a music lover and enjoyed going to concerts. Always a ladies man, Chicky was at his best when in company of beautiful women. His dry sense of humor and carefree attitude could always bring a smile during the most unexpected times. His optimism will always be remembered by those who knew and loved him.
He leaves his loving family, his sister Marjorie Burlingame and her husband Kenyon, his nephew James and niece, Christine all of Charlton. Chick’s older sister Gloria passed in 1960 and he is also survived by her daughter Laura Favreau.
At his request, the funeral service was private. Chicky’s family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who helped make his life brighter by being there for him.
