Obituary

Charles W. England, 78, of Tilton, NH, died Saturday February 25, 2012 in the NH Veteran's Home in Tilton. He was born in Boston, MA on February 19, 1934, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Doyle) Bresnan. He had been a resident of Tilton for the past three years, formerly living in Manchester, NH. Mr. England was a graduate of Northeastern University and Babson College where he received his MBA. He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean era. Mr. England had been employed as the Director of Railroad Operations for the MBTA, and had served as President of the Mass Transit Association. Following retirement, he was a Bridgewater State College business management professor. He loved golf, singing, and playing the guitar.

He is survived by three sons, Charles "Chuck" England, Jr. of Londonderry, NH, John England of Casco, ME, and Mark England and his wife Susan of Mansfield, MA; his ten grandchildren, Michael, Lyndsey, Sean, Nicole, Jack, Josiah, Olivia, Ryan, Zachary and Jessica; and his former wife, Mary R. England of Londonderry. He was predeceased by his brother Robert England.

Calling hours were held on Monday, February 27th from 5 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Jude Parish, 435 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A graveside service followed at 2:00pm in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy., Boscawen, NH.
