Rita M. Nollett, age 84 of Wilmington passed away peacefully April 6th, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center following a lengthy period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald P. Nollett Sr. Born in Boston on November 28, 1927 she was one of seven children of the late Giovanni and Teresa (Sorrentino) Carangelo.
Rita was raised and educated in Boston's North End. She married her beloved husband Donald on September 11, 1949 and eventually settled in Stoneham where they raised their family and remained for fifty years. Rita was a loving wife, mother and homemaker. Family was her primary focus and nothing gave more joy than to care for all their needs. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family and friends. She cherished her family and was especially proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rita is survived by her six children, David Nollett and his wife Joanne, Denise Cole, Desiree Maguire and her ate husband Jack, all of Wilmington, Donald P. Nollett Jr. and his wife Elaine of Saugus, Danielle Nesbit and her husband Joe of Stoneham. She is also survived by fourteen loving grandchildren and seven loving great grandchildren. Sister of Florence Carangelo of Melrose, Tobey Koryta of Cleveland, OH, the late Margaret Bova, Lee DiMinico, Anne and Vinny Carangelo. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 374 Main St., WILMINGTON, Wednesday, April 11th, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Dello Russo Funeral Home will be held on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Rita's memory to VNA Hospice Care, 100 Trade Center, G-500, Woburn, MA 01801.
