Margaret A. Galligan (Gubbins) age 88 of Canton passed away unexpectedly April 6th at the Norwood Hospital. Born in Milton, she was raised in Newtonville and attended Our Lady Catholic School in Newton. In her earlier years she worked as a Bookkeeper for the Boston Flour and Grain Exchange in Boston and for Unity Feeds in Boston and also worked for the Massachusetts Unemployment Office in Norwood. After raising her children, she worked as an Accountant for Vanzetti Infrared Computer Systems. She has lived in Canton since 1954 where she was an active parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church and a Den Mother with the Boy Scouts. Beloved wife of Gerald M. Sr. Mother of Gerald M. Jr. of Abington, Joseph L. of S.C., Kathleen M. of Canton, Donald G. of N.H., Susan E. Kane of Pembroke & James E. of Marshfield. Sister of Miriam C. Davis of Falmouth and the late Robert Gubbins, George Gubbins, Grace Goodness, Virginia Barrett, Teresa Kamp and Charles Gubbins. Also survived by 15 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren & many nieces & nephews. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 5-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Interment VA National Cemetery, Bourne Wednesday at 2:15 pm.
