TEWKSBURY: Margaret M. (McGillicuddy) Flynn, age 72, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Blaire House of Tewksbury.
She was the beloved wife of Jeremiah O. Flynn, with whom she would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 3, 2012.
Born in Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland on July 13, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Daniel McGillicuddy and the late Catherine (Healy) McGillicuddy.
Margaret was raised in Ireland and emigrated to Somerville, MA at the age of 15.
She attended Somerville schools and graduated from Somerville High School in 1957.
Margaret resided in Somerville until moving to Tewksbury in 1967.
Prior to her retirement in 2001, she worked for the Raytheon Corporation in Bedford for 12 years.
Mrs. Flynn was a communicant of Saint Williams Parish of Tewksbury.
She enjoyed bowling, golfing, tennis and was an avid New England Sports Fan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James M. Flynn and his wife Barb (Hall) of Litchfield, NH and Kevin Flynn and his wife Pamela (Farley) of Tewksbury; five grandchildren, Meaghan, Jamie, Thomas, Joshua and Sarah Flynn; two brothers, John McGillicuddy and his wife Gloria of Northwood, NH, and Daniel McGillicuddy and his wife Bridget of Grand Forks, ND; three sisters, Tina Maunsell and her husband James, Mary Bailey and her husband Jeremiah, and Noreen Kierce and her husband Patrick all of Medford; also many nieces and nephews.
Margaret was the sister of the late Timothy McGillicuddy.
Calling hours are Monday, April 9, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, April 10, at 9 a.m., from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the American Parkinson's Disease Association,(www.apdama.org) 72 East Concord St., Boston, MA 02118.
