Robert J. Driscoll, age 88, of Brockton, died April 4, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. He was the loving husband for 61 years of Eleanor L. (Delea) Driscoll. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late James E. and Edith (Sexton) Driscoll. Bob was a graduate of Brockton High School and attended Bentley College. He was a staff sergeant in the US Marine Corps during World War II and served in the Pacific Theatre. After World War II he joined the former Conrad Shoe Company in N. Abington. He later joined Bates Shoe Company in Webster, eventually becoming National Sales Manager. He joined the Walk-Over-Lucey Shoe Company of Bridgewater in 1971 in a Design and Sales capacity as Sales Vice President. He also served as a Vice-President of Walk-Over parent, George E. Keith Company of Brockton.
Bob was a former member of Thorny Lea Golf Club, DW Field Golf Club, Seville Council Knights of Columbus, the National Shoe Travelers Association and was a life member of the Two Ten National Shoe Foundation.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Kenneth D. Driscoll of Brockton, Kathleen Kazanowski and her husband Thomas of Duxbury, Janice Regan and her husband David of Iowa and Robert M. Driscoll and his wife Beth of Brockton; seven grandchildren Kelly Driscoll, Thomas and Michelle Kazanowski, Erin and Katherine Regan and Patrick and Connor Driscoll and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late E. Margaret “Peggy” Bulman, Carl E. Driscoll and Kenneth T. Driscoll.
Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 4-8pm. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 8am for a funeral mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater.
