Obituary

Sephalee H. Hunter passed to eternal life Thursday, April 5, 2012 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, April 6 at Bethlehem Cemetery, Ben Hill County with Rev. B.J. Funk officiating.

She was born to Joseph Browne and Seffie Fountain Hutchinson on February 25, 1920, in Adrian, Ga. She graduated from Adrian High School and earned her teaching degree from Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro, Ga., which is now Georgia Southern State University. She taught in Alma, Adrian, Brunswick, Fitzgerald, and Ocilla, Ga. in primary schools. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church, Fitzgerald, Ga. and taught in the nursery, primary, middle, and high school church classes, and was a charter member of the Upper Room Sunday School class in which she also taught. Served as the Director Head, MYF Leader, sang in the choir, played piano for church services, and a past member of UMW. She also enjoyed serving as president of the Music Club of Fitzgerald, and was president of the Ben Hill County PTA, and was a member of the Fitzgerald Women’s Club.

Survivors are children Paula H. Rogers, Macon, Ga., Judy Hunter-Hill (Joe), Fitzgerald, Ga., and Sephalee “Cissy” H. Lane (John), Milledgeville, Ga. Grandchildren are Kimberly H. Comer (Brandon), Americus, Ga., Browne Harper (Jeanie), Fitzgerald, Ga., and John Hunter Lane, Atlanta, Ga. Also her late life joys, Davis and Delaney Comer, Americus, Ga., her only great-grandchildren. Her husband, Julian B. Hunter, preceded her in death, and all of her brothers and sisters.
