Mrs. Marjorie E. (Donahue) Wilkinson, of Taunton, died Monday, April 2 at her residence following a period of failing health. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Wilkinson. She was born 85 years ago in Taunton, the daughter of the late John J. and Annie (Smith) Donahue. She was educated in Taunton, having graduated from Taunton High School in 1945, and had been a lifelong city resident. She began her employment in 1946 at the Paul A. Dever State School and retired in 1989 after 43 years of service. During her career, she held various clerical and bookkeeping positions, retiring as Personnel Officer. Marjorie enjoyed reading and playing acratch tickets, and loved cats. She was a communicant of the former St. Paul’s Parish in Taunton.
She leaves: 1 daughter: Barbara Ann Wilkinson of Taunton; 1 sister: Hazel Chandler of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Alice Carter of Oxford and Helen Britch of Brookfield.
A Prayer Service will be conducted at The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street on Friday, April 6 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
