Obituary

SPENCER: Roger C. Gaucher,68 of So.Spencer Rd., died suddenly, Tuesday, April 3 at his home following a brief illness.

He leaves his brother Roland F. Gaucher and his wife Karen of Spencer, his sister Lorelle C. Morrow and her husband John of Atlanta, Ga., four nieces; Kristin Gaucher, Heather Gianfriddo, Megan Geller and Natalie Morrow, five grand nephews; Josiah, Eli, Noah, and Joshua Gianfriddo and Cole Smith, and his longtime friend Arlene Haddad of Worcester.

Roger was the proprietor of The Spencer Sunoco Station on Rte. 9 in Spencer for 40 years, just recently retiring in 2011. He was a past member of the Spencer Exchange Club.

Born in Worcester, he was the son of Arthur and Claire R. (Daoust) Gaucher and later graduated from David Prouty High School and Worcester Industrial Technical Institute, he then went to work for the former Heald Machine in Worcester as a machine tool draftsman. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Navy.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 7 at 11 a.m. in the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. A calling hour will precede the service on Saturday from 10 to 11a.m.
