Obituary

Salem: Irene E. Levesque, age 81 of Salem, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, surrounded by her family.

Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Arthur J. and Amanda M. (Dionne) Levesque. Irene first worked in the shoe manufacturing industry of greater Salem, and later worked in the Salem Hospital kitchen in the dietary unit. She retired from Salem Hospital. A life long member of Ste. Anne Parish, she was a member of the Catholic Women’s League. Irene was a loving, caring, and gentle person who was devoted to her extended family and most appreciative of her care givers.

She is survived by 5 sisters, Anita Murtagh and her husband John of Rowley, Jacqueline Caron and her husband Robert of Danvers, Claudette Thibault and her husband Lionel, of Salem, Phyllis Meaney and her husband Peter of Salem, Pauline Dube and her husband Raymond of Peabody, and her brother George H. Levesque of Peabody. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Lorraine Tondreau & Patricia Murtagh and her brother Richard Levesque.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem on Wednesday (today) April 4, 2012 at 12:00 noon. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Visiting hours are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to,
