STURBRIDGE-Richard R. Korzec, 54, of Sturbridge, died Monday, April 2nd surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 13 years, Ann Veneziano-Korzec; his children, Kristin and her husband Jordan Dean of Charlton, Ashley and her husband, Jonathan Baron of Jacksonville, NC and Matthew Korzec of Sturbridge; his father, Raymond Korzec of West Warren; his siblings, James Korzec and his wife, Charlene of North Brookfield and Barbara Piazzo and her husband Kenneth of Warren; his mother-in-law, Josephine Veneziano of Milford; his sister-in-law, Donna Veneziano of Milford and his brother-in-law, Robert Veneziano of Taunton.
He was born in Ware the son of Elizabeth (Stabach) Korzec. Richard was a member of St. Anne-St. Patrick’s Parish in Fiskdale. Mr. Korzec was the associate director of facilities at Worcester State University where he was also an Adjunct Professor of Golf and Coach of the Men’s Golf Team. He previously worked at Monson Developmental Center.
A Liturgy of the Word will be held on Thursday, April 5th at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 4th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Donations may be made to the Richard R. Korzec Memorial Fund, 9 Cherrybrook Circle, Sturbridge, MA 01566 which will be used to make monthly donations to a charity selected by his family.
