Iris L. (Reynolds) Whitney, 58 of Derry, NH died Saturday March 31, 2012 at the Hyder Family Hospice House, Dover, NH. She was born in Shiloh Valley Township, IL on June 9, 1953, a daughter of the late Robert J. and Ingeborg (Sieber) Reynolds. A Derry resident for the past year, she had previously lived in Sandown, NH. Iris graduated from Malden High School, class of 1971 and had attended Middlesex College. She was an avid reader, enjoyed music and writing poetry.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda L. Whitney and son, Keith R. Whitney, both of Derry, and by her sister, Sharon Reynolds of Nashua, NH. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert J. Whitney in 2005.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday April 4, 2012 from 4 – 6 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. Graveside services were held on Thursday at 1:00 pm in the Center Cemetery, Rte. 121A, Main Street, Sandown.
