Richard H. Freda, died Monday at his Medford home surrounded by his loving family. He was 76.
Mr. Freda was born in Medford and raised in Brookline, the son of the late Generoso and the late Ermalinda (Muollo) Freda. Mr. Freda attended both New York Military Academy and Newman Preparatory School. After serving in the navy during World War II, Mr. Freda joined his father in the operation of Mass. Import Company in Boston and Medford. He later led that company for many years.
He was the beloved husband of the late Rosemary A. (Troiano). He was a devoted father of Rick Freda and his wife Maria, Suzanne Vadala, Jeannie Shine and her husband Billy all of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Erik, Richard, Nick, Mike, Tommy, Anthony, Marianne, Willy, Jenn, and Laura. He was also a dear brother of Norma Conforti, Rita DiMento, Carl Freda,the late Henry Freda, Perry Freda and Gloria Marzano. Friends may call Thursday from 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Joseph Church, Medford, Friday at 11 AM with the Rev. David Meskell, celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
