Obituary

LECHTEN, Jean Claire ( Kravetz ) of Chelsea MA, peacefully passed away about 11:30 pm on March 29, 2012 at Mass General Hospital surrounded by seven loving members of her family.
She was 81 and the very loving mother of daughter Cheryl and her husband Fred Trenk, Rhonda Lechten and daughter Rozlyn and her husband Gary Steeves, and the incredibly wonderful Grandmother to four grandchildren; Aaron and Jeffrey, the children or Rozlyn and Gary; Mathew and Emily, the children of Cheryl and Fred. Jean is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Jean was born in Chelsea MA in January 1931. She married Alvin Lechten of Chelsea and together they founded the Cherron Tire Company in Peabody MA until Al passed away at the young age of 51. Following Al’s passing, she worked and owned Klock Kart in Boston’s Faneuil Hall for many years. Several years ago, Jean had a stroke and since then had been living, and well cared for at the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home where she was faithfully visited by her friends and family and especially by her daughter Rhonda. Services at the Torf Funeral Chapel 151 Washington Avenue, Cary Sq, CHELSEA, MA on Sunday, April 1st, 2012 at 10AM. Interment in Temple Beth Shalom Cemetery, Danvers. Contributions in Jean’s memory may be made the Chelsea Jewish Nursing Home 17 Lafayette Avenue, Chelsea, MA or to the American Stroke Foundation 5960 Dearborn Street, Suite 100, Mission, KS, 66202.
