Mr. Kenneth V. Hamel, 67, died Wednesday at Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Lawrence Mr. Hamel had been an area resident all his life. Son of the late Leo Hamel and Murial (MacLeod) Anderson, he served as a Gunners Mate in the United States Coast Guard during Vietnam. When he returned home Mr. Hamel was employed by several local machine shops. Mr. Hamel is survived by his wife Barbara (Ashford) Hamel, three sons Kenneth Hamel Jr., Derek Hamel and Shane Hamel. One sister Diane and her husband Michael Zapantis of Beverly, MA, two nephews Thomas and Daniel Zapantis and one granddaughter Danielle Hamel.
Arrangements: Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Plonowski Funeral Home, 180 Jackson Street Lawrence.
