Daniel S. Katavola, 61 of Derry, NH passed away Thursday March 29, 2012 at Community Hospice House of Merrimack, after a brief battle with cancer, surrounded by his wife of nearly 36 years and his two children. Dan was born in Holyoke, MA, on May 6, 1950 and was the son of the late Peter and Jennie (Vlohiotis) Katavola. He was resident of Derry for the past 26 years.
Dan worked for several companies before becoming part owner of HRchitect, a human resource consulting business, where he worked for the past 14 years. He was a member of Holy Cross Church in East Derry. Dan was a man of high integrity, a hard worker, and a devoted husband and father.
Dan is survived by his wife Teia, and their children, Ana and Nicholas and one grandson, Noah. He also leaves behind one sister, Rose DeLaurier, of Palm Bay, FL.
After cremation, memorial calling hours were held Sunday, April 1st from 2pm to 4pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry, NH. A memorial Mass was celebrated on Monday at 11am in Holy Cross Church, Hampstead Rd., East Derry. Memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice House, 210 Naticook Road, Merrimack, NH 03054.
